One Nurse's Every Day Stories

When I became a nurse in 2006, I was so fortunate to be hired by a great home hospice company in Phoenix, AZ. The company was made up of teams of 10-15 people logistically placed within our service area. Each week we would meet to discuss our cases. I credit my oldest daughter, Roya with leading the way here!

I love quotes. I love reading. I would find quotes anywhere I could. Sometimes I would find them on the side of a bus, a billboard, a church marquee. I started sharing with a few people on my team because I thought they would laugh, or smile, or for some reason, the quote fit the day. Then the sharing spread to the rest of the team, including the Medical Director.

Before too long, I was getting requests from other employees of the company, as well as friends and family outside of work. The list grew to even include patients and their family members. Within a few years, my "Quote of the Day" had spread to hundreds of people.

I would have to hunt for good, appropriate quotes every day now! If I forgot to send one, or I was late, I'd get an email or text asking if I'd left someone out of the days' little bit of fun.

After 6 years of daily quotes, I moved away. People were hoping I would continue my daily mailing. And I did, for a while, until life got in the way and the quotes were fewer and farther between.

So, on this page, there are going to be as many good, not always appropriate quotes as I can manage.
